In order to celebrate a year of sitting overseas waiting to get blown up, I thought I would throw a party when I return to North Carolina!

If you live in the NC area and you're reading this then you're invited!
The plan is to do it the weekend of the 25th as that'll be the first weekend I'll be in the Concord area. If you don't live around Concord now or ever, you should still try to come out and see me maybe? I don't know it's not like you guys ever call or anything. Best part was when I was subtly accused of underage drinking, threatened to take a blood test to "see what else you were doing last night." Ha! Test my blood! I'll give you my bonus if you find anything other then... um... hemoglobin and other blood things!
Apparently someone tried to call me in order to come in and take the shift of another soldier who had been sent back to Humphreys. Now that in itself doesn't sound unreasonable until you realize that the other soldier had been sent back to Humphreys before they actually made the schedule.
When I then asked the SGT who made the list what they were going to do about the soldier who wasn't here anymore but was still on the list, I was told someone would be found to take his spot.
This was probably less then 8 hours before they attempted to call me to do that very thing. It was certainly less then 10.
But really the best part is that the only reason I even got a hotel room last night was so that I could keep my sleep schedule from getting fucked up by being expected to sit around in the barracks all night with the lights off, no music or sound other than headphones, and no food or internet.

Korea is crazy. We have these guys who're Korean nationals who've been trained to work in the US army. They're called KATUSAs which stands for Korean Augmentation to the United Sates Army. Well the other day while I was playing Starcraft with another guy, every single KATUSA in the barracks walked by at some point and pointed out what we were playing, laughed about it, then started talking to another KATUSA about Starcraft in korean. I could tell because apparently the Korean word for Hydralisk is Hydralisk, etc.

Also I've actually seen a match being broadcast on television. Couldn't watch it at the time but it was there! A real proleague match. Broadcast on TV.

Jesus where did they send me. Now I just need to go find some Pump tourneys and a poker game and it'll feel like I'm living in Charlotte again.
